Our Corporate Social Responsibility
"We are committed to our communities"
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is about understanding and managing our community and environmental performance alongside our financial performance. As a firm we have a long history of positive engagement with our local communities and creating value for our community is at the heart of our core values. Corporate Social Responsibility has never been more front-and-centre in today's business environment. Organizations worldwide are dedicating more and more attention to their corporate responsibility function, as, increasingly, shareholders, clients, employees, community and non-governmental organizations, and other stakeholders are demanding more transparency and detail in reporting from leading businesses. There is a strong business and overwhelming moral case for CSR; not only to benefit our local communities, but also in attracting and retaining the best people and realizing potential benefits derived from, for example, good environmental and health and safety management practices. KPMG in the Cayman Islands have developed a detailed CSR policy to cover three main aspects: Donation Giving, Environment and Volunteering. To help carry out the policy, a staff Community Committee has been created to help develop and implement strategies for the CSR programme. Our CSR policy consists of three main areas: 1. Donation Giving KPMG regularly provides monetary donations and sponsorship to various local community groups. KPMG primarily aim to focus on support to the Cayman Islands youth and educational programmes and to groups who may be disadvantaged or in need. 2. Environment KPMG and its staff are pro-actively engaged in tackling the issues facing the environment such as responsible consumption, both through internal procedures and in the wider community. 3. Volunteering Financial support is not the only way we can help our community. By providing human resources to community projects we are able to strengthen our relations in the community whilst enhancing the skill set of our staff. Staff members can take time off work every month to help provide support to various initiatives in the community.
