Actuarial Services

The Actuarial Services Group advises clients on important issues such as pricing, reserving and risk management needs. We specialize in property casualty loss reserving (including regulatory opinions); risk transfer analysis; the design and pricing of insurance products; assistance in the development of actuarial information systems; captive feasibility studies and loss portfolio transfer reviews.

In addition, we also provide a broad array of other actuarial services including the following:

Claim Reserve Adequacy and Projected Funding Levels

We can help assess whether a business has booked reasonable liabilities to cover losses on claims that have already occurred, as well as claims that may occur in the future. We can also project funding levels for future exposure periods.

It is desirable to review reserves on at least an annual basis, as the conditions affecting the ultimate value of an insurer’s loss liabilities may change over time. Frequent monitoring of reserve levels may help to avoid potentially large fluctuations in a company’s financial results.

Loss Reserve Specialist Opinions

We provide loss reserve specialist opinions in compliance with regulatory requirements. These opinions address loss and loss adjustment expense reserves.

Benchmarking

We can benchmark the organization’s claims experience with that of other organisations presenting similar risk and operational characteristics. This can assist in setting performance improvement goals for the organisation.

Risk Financing Alternatives

Whether you are interested in exploring risk financing for the first time or desire an independent review of your current program, we can help you sort through the complex array of alternatives.
